Fifteen acres of tropical fruit — mango, banana, rambutan, dragon fruit. A lake at the edge of the orchard. Four private cottages, each one set back in the trees.
About the farm
Ajith worked abroad for six years, came back, and in 2006 bought this land. What followed was twenty years of building something — a farm, then a crisis, then a different kind of place entirely.
"When guests come, they are happy. So I am also happy."
Read his storyEach cottage is completely separate — your own entrance, your own veranda, your own view of the lake. Raw concrete, handmade teak bed, and a bathroom open to the sky.
The cottages sit at the edge of the lake, surrounded by fruit trees. Mist on the water in the morning. Fireflies at night.
Explore the farm
Aji has kayaks on the lake. Take one out at dawn — the water is flat and the farm is still quiet.
Elephant country. Big herds, open grassland. The jeep picks you up here — Aji arranges it.
A nearby local horse farm offers riding experiences and hikes through the area. Ask Aji for details and to arrange a visit.
Breakfast is included. Every morning Aji's family puts out a spread — fresh fruit from the farm, eggs, tea.
If you ask the day before, they'll cook a proper Sri Lankan meal. Rice, curry, fresh fruit from the trees outside. All made here.
There's no restaurant nearby. You won't miss it.
"This was probably the best Airbnb we've ever stayed at. The calmness and nature are breathtaking. The highlight is the bathroom with open sky — and the fireflies by night."— Sarah & Felix, Germany
